  • On a recent episode of the Mountain Side Podcast, I had the opportunity to speak once again with one of my favorite humans, Luke Caudillo. Luke, a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) coach at the highest level in the UFC, is also the host of the popular GU unfiltered podcast, the creator of Gladiators Unleashed, and a renowned comedian.

    Bringing Laughter to the Studio

From the outset, our podcast was filled with hearty laughs and shared camaraderie. It's Luke's fourth time on the show, and his infectious spirit and energy filled the studio once again. Originating from the shared joy of being in the studio together, our conversation bounced around different topics, creating a entertaining conversation.

    The Power of Authenticity

One thing that resonated strongly during our conversation was the theme of authenticity. We often discussed the impact of 'keeping it real' on our respective podcasts and how it connects with our audiences. Luke specifically shared about an incident where he monetized a comical yet daring moment in life by wasabi for $1000, an episode that went viral on social networks.

    Evasion and Evolution

Turning to a more serious tone, we shared our thoughts about the challenges and pivots in the podcasting field. We discussed the evolution of podcasting platforms, and how we navigated those changes. We touched on Luke's former platform, Bullhorn, and how he gracefully adapted when it shifted its focus, ultimately steering his energies to YouTube and reaping greater success.

    MMA – More than Fighting

We ventured into the world of Mixed Martial Arts, and Luke's role as an MMA coach. He expanded on the intensity and commitment the sport demands, not just from fighters, but from coaches too. Luke's close rapport with Justin Gaethje, a top UFC fighter, gave us an insightful glance into the dynamic, often testing relationship between coaches and fighters and the unwavering mutual respect.

Exploring the Outdoor World with Gladiators Unleashed

Being at the heart of the outdoor world, Luke also talked about Gladiators Unleashed, an outdoor adventure reality show that he created. The discussion moved towards finding a balance between work and passion, the reasons behind certain strategic decisions, and the lessons he's learned during his journey.

Wrapping Up: The True Richness is Not in Money, But Happiness

Towards the end of the podcast, we both agreed on an essential life view – the true nature of 'richness'. Through our numerous laughs, light-hearted banter, and earnest talks, we concluded that the richness of life isn't measured in monetary terms but the happiness one finds in one's life. Whether it's in a daring bet, an adrenaline-pumped fight, a shared laugh, or the accomplishment in a trainee's eyes, a rich life packs in diverse experiences that yield pure joy.

The conversation with Luke was as awesome as always. As the episode unfolded, it opened windows into the realms of success, happiness, passion, and authenticity – reminding us that in the pursuit of success, it's crucial not to forget the simple joy of being ourselves.
